I reviewed this book and found it to be an up-to-date, clinically relevant nutritional resource that should be on every dietitian's and physician's bookshelf. It contains a plethora of information on several clinical conditions of a nutritional nature, definitions/background of the condition, interventions available both traditional and in complementary medicine, and information on pharmaceuticals/drug-nutrient interactions. Essentially, the information would help any nutritional clinician in putting together a comprehensive assessment and care plan for a variety of illnesses that require nutritional intervention.

About the Author
Paul Westwood was born in 1953 and is one of the world's most famous bass players as well as being one of London's elite session musicians. His album credits include such artists as Elton John, Vangelis, John Miles, Stephen Bishop, Andy Williams, José Carreras, Hot Chocolate, Madonna, Jennifer Rush and The Royal Philharmonic and London Symphony Orchestras. He has toured with Charles Aznavour, John Dankenworth and Cleo Laine, and Cliff Richard and has worked with many jazz musicians including Steve Gadd, Wayne Shorter, Joe Beck and Jon Hiseman. Paul teaches at the Royal Academy of Music, London; King's College, London; and others.

great for beginner/intermediate player

I'm an amateur, self-taught player. Not an absolute beginner, but not very skilled either.

This book was perfect for me - it covers techniques in a way I could understand easily. And it covers lots of different styles of music - so it's helpful for musicians who only know one kind (e.g., if you are a metal head who wants to broaden your playing).

Also, the author does not try to sound cool or condescending. He just covers what you need to know in a way that shows he loves music.

Better than the other introductory books I've seen. I'm not a music teacher, but it seems to me this would be a great accompaniment to lessons after someone has been playing for a few weeks.

I read music only a little, and on a plus side, I do I think listening to the CDs and following the written music is helpful, and I like how the author goes into all kinds of music from all over the world... but the CDs just have short snippets of bass parts and while I guess you could keep clicking the back button on the CD player to repeat the parts over and over... I think the CDs would have been more helpful if the snippets were longer, and/ or if there were versions of music without the bass part so the bass student could play along.
The book and CD just weren't what I expected from reading the Amazon review.
It seems you could learn as much by listening to and playing along with the local college radio / world music/ various CDs you already have/ being in a band/learning covers... gee, I should follow my own advice here!
I will go over it again and update if my opinion changes.

i have just started reading this book and i'm already learning something. the quality of the recordings on the CD's is top notch and the font size is great(i only wish the book was spiral-bound). thank you Mr. Westwood for an invaluable source of inspiration. :)

Surprisingly Awesome!

I was skeptical of Joe and his book at first. I expected him to be a good motivational talker with a lot of fluff and hype but no substance. I was dead wrong!

I've read dozens of real estate books and none of them get into the nuts and bolts the way that Joe does in his. He gets right down to exactly how he acquires, rehabs and manages properties. All the way down to exact dollar amounts. A real breathe of fresh air.

I will definitely be getting his newest book as well as Buy & Rent Foreclosures after reading this.

After reading Neilson's first book (three times!) and applying his concepts, numbers analysis and un-common sense to both acquiring and renting real estate, I have survived a big remodel, eviction of my very first tenant after just three months, and the landing of a great second tenant within just 2 weeks of regaining possession. My only regret? That I eliminated the doorbell. My (good) tenant asked for it back (I said "No") Would have been nice to leave it, but Joe said "eliminate" appliances that could go wrong. With his second book Neilson works deeper into the crevices of how to know your market, take aim, hit it and make money. What I like most is the rationality he brings to investing. Everybody says "Know you numbers." Joe shows and explains these and why they matter. I don't even look into a property until I run numbers using Joe's metrics. This saves a lot of wasted time.The antithesis of late-night guru pitch-men, Neilson tells the truth, backed by numbers. You could read lots of other authors and get theory or emotionality. If you want facts, figures and your own business strategy, pick up 7 Essential Habits.

This was a very good book for a number of reasons. Firstly it was an easy read without a great deal of technical language and formulas. I think this is very important for Joe's target audience, real estate beginners. As a licensed real estate broker and builder I found Joe's focus on finding and targeting niche markets very insightful. From my experience, its imperative that a real estate investor has an intimate knowledge of their market. Too many people try to enter the real estate market without a specific focus and eventually find themselves totally lost. I enjoyed Joe's book and look forward to reading his other publications.

Cuffed and Collared is the third book in the Boston’s Brave series by Samantha Cayto. While this book is part of a series, it can be read and enjoyed as a standalone novel.

Regan Malloy is a woman who is dedicated to her job as a homicide detective. She is a tough woman who can hold her own either on the job or relaxing. A case that is assigned to her about a serial killer who targets submissive men leaves her with little choice but to go undercover. While undercover, she starts to learn the attraction of domination and BDSM.

Kyle Ramsey is a lawyer at the top of his career. He balances raising his child with is workaholic life. Kyle has trouble trusting anyone and seems to have the mindset that if something has to get done right he will have to doit himself.

The connection between Regan and Kyle is intense. They make a great pair. It was easy to see that Regan tried to stay away from Kyle. I loved how honest Kyle was about his involvement is helping catch his friend’s killer. The sex scenes were scorching. I enjoyed how the author balanced the murder mystery with romance.

I found this book well written with an interesting plot. The main characters and the secondary characters were fascinating. While the ending was a little predictable, the journey the book takes the reader on is gripping with several unanticipated twists and turns that keep the reader on the edge of their seat. I had a hard time putting this book down. Overall, this was a very enchanting book and I hope to see these characters again in the future.

Even though the plot was predictable, the bdsm element was more realistic than some other books I've encountered. I enjoyed getting to know these characters and will read other books in the series and by this author.

Hey, You, WAKE UP your the problem here!

Now I have your attention I cannot tell you the dramatic difference this little book did for me and my marriage. One day my wife comes up to me and says out of the blue "Im not happy I want to seperate, please pack a bag and get out" I was blown away I did not see this coming at all!

This book will NOT underline NOT save your marriage... You will. This is going to take a bit of maturity on your part and also willingness for you to change your behaviors. Let me tell you what I was doing so you dont think I am just some guy who was only slightly jealous.

The more I tried to smother her and deny her basic freedoms the more she pushed away from me. The more she pushed away the harder I tried and the more jealous I became. I did things that were so unbelievable I still cant believe I did them. I used to set up a video camera to watch the house while I was at work so I could see who was coming over to sleep with her. I would find excuses to leave work early so I could suprise her and see who she was sleeping with. Nothing ever proved anything. But in my jealous mind any thing I found like a sock on the floor, proved her infidelity. This meant that I would accuse her of sleeping with people, I was nervous of every man in her life because they obvously wanted to sleep with her and I knew it. I wanted to know where she went and for how long so that I could then question her later and see if her stories were the same if she said one thing wrong I used that to accuse her of visiting other guys. I read her emails to see who she was writing and what they were saying about me. Basically I was a mess. When I began to realize this I slowly started to see what I had done wrong and it all was like a light going off. I had not seen what I was doing. I was like a dog that is chained up and is pulling to get a bone, the more I pulled the tighter the coller was getting and the more it choked me.

I would also suggest a marriage counselor for you and your spouse or partner. Yes this book will help for people that have domestic partners and boyfriend/girlfriends. If you see any hope in the relationship at all dont give up. You can do it! Dont become another statistic.

Focuses too much on the non-jealous mate.

I feel that this book hasn't given me any solutions to overcome my jealous behavior. There are some solutions but they are not very detailed in how to use them through different stages and situations in a relationship. I think that this book is more helpful for those people who are dating or married to someone who is jealous. Overall I think that if you are a jealous person looking for a book to help you change then I think that you should look for another book.

Helped to Change My Life!!

I drove away a girl that I loved in just 3 short months! I knew that I was kind of insecure and had poor self-esteem, but I had no idea that I was acting possesively and extremely jealous towards her once I finally fell in love. When we first started dating she fell in love with me quickly. She never saw my bad side untill I fell in love with her, then all hell broke loose. Now I thought that I owned her. It started with false jealous accusations, and the constant need for assurance of her love for me, even after my harsh verbal and mental abuses. As her resentment grew, and as I felt her pulling away, I became desparate and acted possesively towards her. All I knew is that I needed her to love me the way she did when we first met.
She ended the relationship after three months, but wanted to "still be friends". I could not accept her leaving, and became more possesive and jealous whenever I saw her untill she could not deal with me anymore, and I could not deal with being "just a friend" so we decided not to speak to each other again.
I saw myself in this book, and it has confirmed to me that my thoughts and actions were that of a possesive and jealous person. (I blamed my girlfriend or anything else I could think of for causing me to react the way I was.)
Just discovering this about myself alone has opened my eyes and started a change in me, but the book has also taught me how to change the way I think. This book uses many true life examples of the possesively jealous person and how they were able to overcome their harmful thinking patterns.
I am now learning to love myself unconditionaly first, and that I can change or "unlearn" any negative behavior or thinking patterns that I have learned in the past.
I'm sure that I will be ready for the next relationship!
