The player characters, Eidolons, are beings of immense power, granted a body of pure life energy and formed by the desires and designs of their hearts. Eidolons develop new powers based upon their personalities. To be consumed by greed will give an Eidolon the power to create gold with a touch. To be fearful and furtive will grant the power to dissolve into shadow. Traits develop based upon how characters are role-played, rather than the assignment of experience or gaining of levels. This means that Eidolons will gain powers that reflect their actions and desires. In Empyrean, the game builds itself as you play. No GM is responsible for creating encounters in advance of the game. A fun but different RPG

A fun game to play, but like all RPGs, play depends on the people in the group. This is a roleplaying game where you make up things as you go along. As long as all the players work to make the story continue, the game is fun. Since the Game Master role changes, everyone gets to play the game. This RPG put more of an emphasis on roleplaying as it determines your character's "leveling."
It doesn't require much equipment to play. You only need their pre-made deck, the free app, or a homemade set of pieces to represent the different elements in addition to the rulebook. The homemade set can be anything from colored beads in a bag to your own printed cards. The different gamesheets are in the book to photocopy, like the character sheets.
I find the game goes better with a group of five to seven. Too little of people and there won't be enough variety in the encounters, and too many people makes things get crazy. People with creative imaginations are a must, though not everyone has to be super imaginative.
The corebook comes with one premade world and some ideas for starting campaigns. Plus there's plenty of generaters to make items and npcs. Though if you want more, you'll have to get another premade world or create your own. Creating a new world is a fun game in itself. There's a group world creating process in the book.
If your looking of an RPG that's different from D&D and Pathfinder that doesn't need a bunch of dice and everyone can play with no dedicated GM, here's the perfect one.
